Learn crochet at one of our new **COVID-secure** beginner’s crochet workshops, with our experienced tutor, Shiona, at The Little Songbird Knitting Co HQ in Newnham, Kent. Suitable for LEFT and RIGHT-handed learners.

On our beginner’s course, you will learn how to:
- Hold your hook and yarn to achieve an even tension.
- Use basic stitches and techniques.
- Read a crochet pattern and/or chart.
Beginner’s Introduction to Granny Squares – Crochet a Pop Wheel or Mini Mandala
At this beginner lessons, you’ll learn how to make a pop wheel granny squares or mini madala. These use a few basic stitches and techniques, and produce really lovely results. With your granny squares, you will be able to make blankets and throws, scarves, bags, cushion covers and more. Mandalas can be used as place mats/doilies, wall decor, or sized up to make a rug out of t-shirt yarn ( get some inspiration from Drops Design). You’ll be working from a pattern and/or chart, with lots of guidance, so that you can go away after your lesson and carry on with projects at home. You’ll have plenty or yarn and equipment to take home with you.

Whichever course you choose, your beginner’s crochet workshop includes all of the materials and equipment, which are yours to keep. If you are left-handed, please let us know so that we can provide all of the guides and patterns in a left-handed format for you.

Courses are for 3 hours, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays from 10am-1pm. Dates are limited, so book your place after completing the checkout process, by getting in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
